Police Arrest ‘Occupy’ Protester at Home of Local Bank Executive

Reprising a desperate attempt to garner gratuitous publicity for their
flailing cause, approximately one hundred members of the ‘Occupy’
movement again descended on the San Marino home of Tim Sloan, a Wells
Fargo Bank executive, to protest what they perceive as predatory
mortgage lending.

EDITORIAL: Is It Time to End the San Marino Police Department?

Why does little San Marino even have its own police department? That
question demanded an answer last Thursday evening when an army of anarchists of
the ‘Occupy’ movement assaulted a private residence in the middle of San Marino
for the third time. <br>
Obviously deferring to protesters who have apparently declared open season on
San Marino’s homes, the officers from the San Marino Police Department and four
other neighboring law enforcement agencies stood idly by as self-proclaimed
‘protesters’ again descended on the home of longtime resident, civic leader,
youth soccer coach, Honorary Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and Tribune Citizen of
the Year Tim Sloan. The ‘Occupy’ mob trapped his wife and daughter inside
while they trespassed on the Sloan’s Woodstock Road property.

Not of edible crops, but instead the lovely sounds being heard out of the mouths and musical instruments of Huntington Middle School (“HMS”) students. Sixty percent of HMS students participate in the outstanding Music program offered by the middle school. During the past seven months, the students have diligently practiced every day at school under the guidance of the dedicated HMS performing arts teachers. They have learned to express themselves with the language of music, which they use now in their performances and which they will carry with them throughout their lives.

On Wednesday, November 30th at about 10:30 P.M. strong winds hit the city of San Marino. Over the course of the next six hours, these winds caused significant damage to trees throughout the city. The city currently has a list of approximately 250 downed trees or heavy branches. Several of these trees blocked roadways and a few landed on homes. Public Works, Police and Fire Department personnel have now cleared all major roadways, and at this writing only six small sections of road still need to be cleared.
