The February 2nd, 2012 Trojan Guild meeting was held at the Davidson Center at USC with well-known history professor Kevin Starr as their speaker.
Among his many honors, he received the Presidential Medallion from USC in 2005 and the National Endowment of Humanities in 2006 by President George W. Bush. He was named the 2010 inductee of the California Hall of Fame by Arnold Schwarzenneger.
He served as State Librarian Emeritus.Professor Starr holds Masters and Doctorate degrees from Harvard University and from the University of California at Berkeley.
Starr has written numerous books on California history, uncovering how the Golden State emerged from the Gold Rush, absorbed the shocks of the depression and was transformed by sweeping events of WWII.
