LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich and
Rick Santorum are scheduled to speak in Pasadena and North Hills tonight, one
day before a debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.
Gingrich, a former House speaker, is scheduled to speak and take
questions from the audience at the Castle Green Hotel, 50 E. Green St. in
Pasadena, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Doors to the event will open at 7 p.m.
Gingrich ``will make the argument for `Leadership Now',' his press
secretary R.C. Hammond told City News Service. ``Fourteen million unemployed
American cannot wait for 2013 for a new president to fix the economy,' Hammond
said.
To spur the economy, Gingrich has called for Congress to extend the Bush-
era tax cuts and reduce the corporate tax rate to 12.5 percent.
Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, is scheduled to speak tonight
at a meeting of the San Fernando Valley Republican Club. The meeting is
scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Galpin Ford, 15555 Roscoe Blvd. in North Hills.
Santorum, whose campaign slogan is ``The Courage To Fight For America,'
has presented a jobs plan that includes cutting the corporate tax rate in
half and reducing individual taxes.
