Alicia Paula Wengert married Benjamin Michael Sloan at a 6pm service on June 11, 2011 at St. Ambrose Church in Des Moines, Iowa. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wengert of Ames, Iowa. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy J. Sloan of San Marino, California. The reception was held at The Scottish Rite in Des Moines, Iowa immediately following the ceremony. The wedding party included: Andrea Mallarino (Maid of Honor), Andrew Sloan (Best Man), Kathleen Sloan (Bridesmaid), Emily Wengert (Junior Maid of Honor), Ryan Wengert (Groomsman), Emerson Guerrero (Groomsman), Cory Bunch (Usher), Matt Delinko (Usher), Mark Goodnight (Usher), Trevor Patch (Usher), Chris Yortsos (Usher), Kierstin Puckett (Flower Girl), and Robbie Wengert (Ring Bearer).

The couple spent their honeymoon on the island of Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. Ben and Alicia are making their home in Ames, Iowa where Alicia is teaching Kindergarten at St. Cecelia Catholic School, and Ben is working towards his PhD. in Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University.
