Carolyn Crain, the energetic face of San Marino's Public Library for more than two decades, passed away on Thursday, May 8 after an extended illness.
Through Crain's vision and leadership, the magnificent Crowell Public Library was dedicated in late January, one of the last times Crain was in the city. Battling her illness, Crain delivered an emotional address thanking the community for the new library, bringing all in attendance to their feet in tribute to her courage.
