23rd Annual Fall Food & Wine Festival Set for Oct. 28
Benefits Huntington Trauma Center

SOCIETY, EVENTS & OTHER GOOD CAUSES
Nothing tempts the palate like the annual Fall Food and Wine Festival, held each October on the festive grounds between the Parkway Grill and the Arroyo Chop House in Pasadena.
The evening is co-produced by Parkway Grill owners Gregg and Bob Smith and Huntington Hospital. Proceeds benefit the hospital’s Center for Trauma Care – the only one available in the San Gabriel Valley.
This year, event co-chairs are Greg and Michele Thompson of San Marino who assure that the evening promises to be a spectacular offering of sumptuous wines and delicious specialties from dozens of restaurants and wineries.
Other San Marino residents on the Fall Food & Wine committee include: Ave and Will Bortz, Nick Boswell, Margie Lowe-Francis and Therese and Lee Mothershead.
Participating restaurants and wineries include: Arroyo Chop House, Vibrato Grill & Jazz, Marston’s Restaurant, Maison Akira, Gale’s, Sushi Roku, The Ritz-Carlton, Pasadena – The Dining Room, Madeleine’s and more.
Wineries include: BV, Grgich Hills, ZD Wines, Rombauer, Silver Oak Cellars, Schramsberg, Fiddlehead, and Qupe among others.
All festival proceeds this year will specifically support the purchase of a Multi-Slice Computed Tomography (MSCT) to be placed in the hospital’s planned emergency department expansion area. Construction on the new ED will begin late next year. The new 64-slice scanner will benefit trauma patients by having improved and quicker diagnostic capabilities, better accuracy, and a greater level patient comfort.
The Huntington Center for Trauma Care was established in 1983, it is the only Level II trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley. The Center provides expert medical care to victims of serious trauma and features a state-of-the-art heliport, allowing trauma victims to be treated faster than ever before.
