This year's National Charity League Juniors of San Marino’s event, A Hollywood Affair, was an award-winning success.
The dinner, auction, and casino were a sold-out event held in a private club in Downtown Los Angeles.
Over 350 guests attended to support Huntington Memorial Hospital’s Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units – or NICU/PICU.
The tradition of giving has continued for the past 35 years, with monies raised from avid patrons and national, as well as local support, of this group of 38 women. Companies such as Tiffany & Co, Nestle USA, Single Stone on Mission and China Art & Jewelry have been consistent supporters of the Benefit.
Jacob Maarse provided glamour with fragrant and elegant flowers.
The paparazzi – Nick Boswell Photography – made it a true Hollywood gala. This year’s event even attracted a bit of old and new Hollywood: the Roosevelt Hotel (where the first Oscars were held) donated two rooms, Maroon 5 donated a signed guitar, and Miley Cyrus signed several pieces for auction and gifts to the hospital. It was an award-winning event for all.
Proceeds from the benefit will buy desperately needed equipment to help care for the NICU and PICU’s sickest patients.
A new Giraffe Incubator will allow caregivers to perform tests, treatments and emergency medical procedures on severely ill infants without moving them from their micro-environment.
The PICU will benefit from the purchase of a new telemetry monitoring system, which helps physicians track vital signs of the most critically impaired.
Lastly, monies raised will help to purchase a pediatric decumbant diversion system – age appropriate video center – which provides a soothing distraction for patients being treated for drug-induced comas and other serious conditions.
